| Demolition phase
Permission was granted to remove the 1st floor mezzanine and stairs element of the barn and create a staircase at the opposite end of the building in order to access a redesigned and refurbished first floor area.
A large pine beam supporting the existing mezzanine had to be carefully removed along with the mezzanine floor. The remaining pockets in the stonework were infilled with stone reclaimed from the formation of an opening at the other end of the building and the whole area was made good and re-pointed with hydraulic lime sand mortar.
The doorway through to the existing first floor was re-fashioned to create a recessed feature.
A new commercial kitchen was created in an area of the barn previously used as a restaurant. This new space was designed to accommodate a fully fitted out commercial kitchen with 3 phase electrical supply and interlocked LPG gas system.
A number of rooms in the barn building were reconfigured, demolishing walls where necessary and reconstructing new to create more interactive and usable spaces.
A new staircase was constructed to gain access to the resigned first floor area now consisting of 'The Hay Loft' bridal area, 'Dressing Room' and office space
New internal and external doors and frames were supplied and fitted by our joiners and a bar was constructed to fit in with the carefully crafted design specification supplied by the clients.
Third party contractors fitted a new timber floor to the Ceremony, Dining and Snug rooms along with new male and female WC installations. Large vanity and other mirrors were supplied and fixed and commercial vinyl flooring was fitted to the kitchen areas.
Interior and exterior decorations were carried out throughout the building to complete the brief.
